NRG Systems Headquarters Renovation l Hinesburg, Vermont
Indoor plants help to purify indoor air and add a sense of calm to our work spaces with their beauty. This became a major concept in the renovation plans for the headquarters of NRG, a global leader of wind measurements technology. Miniature landscapes resembling Vermont ecosystems were designed and created throughout the building to sustain connection to nature. The vine-covered central trellis that reaches to the ceiling of the multi-story foyer and the low circular planter of groundcover resembles the patterns and textures of a Vermont forest. The Vermont wet meadow scenes along the circulation corridors are planted with tall, grass-like plants with understories of colorful orchids that are rotated with the Vermont seasons.
