Golf Course Home South Burlington, Vermont
The house and entire landscape on this sloping small lot overlooking the golf course and Green Mountains were transformed into a clean, contemporary style inside and out. Existing terraces and steps were in disrepair, unsafe and unsightly and led to a dysfunctional water feature. Plants were unmaintained and unhealthy throughout the landscape. All the features were removed and we started with a clean slate in collaboration with the Architect/GC, who worked on updating the interior and creating a smoother flow inside. There is now a seamless connection from inside to outside to the golf course view beyond, as the new deck leads to the upper terrace constructed with clean, cream-toned concrete pavers. The same light-colored concrete materials extend down the solid, elegant staircase illuminated by slick step lights. The staircase ends at the lower terrace flanked by seat walls and anchored by a beautiful gas fire feature. Native pollinator gardens relieve former hill of harsh boulders and provide seasonal interest and privacy. The gardens flow to the front yard where the walkway to the front porch was transformed with bluestone and the cracked asphalt driveway/parking was replaced with light-colored concrete pavers.
